Step 1.Review the water connection guidelines:

Carefully review Menlo Park Municipal Water's water connection guidelines(PDF, 69KB) and have ready the electronic copy of your plans stamped and approved by the Menlo Park Fire Protection District.

Step 2.Complete the online form:

Step 3.The City will review the application and plans submitted:

  • The City will begin the process of determining appropriate fees for the requested connections
  • If the water service line will  be replaced, the owner shall hire a Class A contractor to perform the work within the public right of way. The contractor shall obtain an encroachment permit and fulfill all permitting requirements with the city.
  • Once fees are determined, the city will send a fee invoice to the applicant for payment. 

Step 4.Mail the fee and a copy of the confirmation email:

Step 5.Once payment is received, the city will authorize the work and provide applicable contact information.
