The Police Records Unit is comprised of three police records officers and managed by the communications and records manager. The unit is responsible for:
The unit answers all non-emergency incoming phone calls, staffs the main customer service counter and assists the public with questions, copies of reports, parking permits, vehicle releases, etc. The unit also administers the City's various parking permit programs related to overnight, downtown and residential permit programs.
The background check and processing fee for a letter of good conduct is $40 per name checked. The prepared letter will be certified or notarized.
A secured drop box is now located in the Police Lobby at 701 Laurel St. Drop-offs can be made during regular business hours, Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. No after-hours drop offs can be made.
Many items of various personal property are collected and recovered every day. All property releases are done by appointment only.
