Join us virtually, to talk about some great reads! Our Melanated Reads group meets on the 1st Monday of each Month, our Fiction Book Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, our Mystery Readers Group convenes on the 3rd Wednesday, and our Sci-Fi/Fantasy group gets together on the 4th Monday.

Story Time for Adults

We know you’re never too old to enjoy a good story! Take a break at Noon on "odd Fridays," as your Menlo Park librarians read aloud to you.

Virtual Conversation Club

Come practice your English with people from all over the world! Meet other English language learners and work with our volunteer tutors. Register online: Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to Noon


Storytimes online

We offer live, interactive storytimes–online! Join us each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. for stories, songs and early-learning fun for grown-ups and their little ones. Sign up now!

Starting November 18: Storytimes are coming back to the library! Join us with your little ones for stories, songs and fun! Drop in at the time and location that works best for you.

Seniors/older adults

Older adult services

Menlo Park resumed older adult services indoors on weekday mornings in a new, temporary location at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center.

Services include:

  • Nutritionally balanced meals
  • Health, recreational, social, cultural and educational programs
  • Opportunities for socializing and fun.

Door-to-door local transportation services are available to Menlo Park resident seniors.


Online Gaming Meetup

First Wednesdays: For Grades 4-12: Dungeons and Dragons! Jack Box! Join us to meet and enjoy online gaming with other teens. We meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 4-5 p.m.

Teen Creative Writing Club

Every Friday at 4:30: For Grades 6-12: Express yourself! Write poetry, short stories, and more. New writing prompts weekly, presented by our Teen Advisory Group (T.A.G.).

Databases for school

Teens recommend to explore!

  • Skribbl io is an online drawing game where players try to guess what is being drawn. It can be played with a group of friends or random group.
  • GeoGuessr is an online guessing game that gives the player an image from a place around the world and the player has to guess where the place is using clues in the picture and their knowledge
  • Snap! has basic programming and teens could use it to make a game.
  • Roll20 for character interaction and overall gameplay, I personally use Roll20. It is free and they have their own tutorials on how to use it.
  • Monterey Bay Aquarium has live webcams with cute animals.
  • Tetris to play online.
  • Escape Room Greek Mythology- Our first online escape room created by TAG! See if you can escape our Greek mythology themed puzzles and riddles in less than 30 minutes.
  • Escape Room Magic- This magic themed online escape room was also created by TAG. Can you escape in less then 20 minutes?
