Many services can be accessed online rather than in person. In person services currently require advance appointments.
Administrative Services includes the Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology divisions. Each supports and reinforces citywide operations. This includes preservation of the City's financial resources, commitment to attract and retain a skilled workforce and effective management of the City's information systems.

The City Manager implements the City Council’s plans and priorities by coordinating the work of all departments and employees, except the City Attorney. The City Manager's Office includes the City Clerk, public engagement and communications, sustainability policy and programs and management of special projects.
Community Development includes Building, Economic Development, Housing and Planning divisions. These functions include building permits, plan check, inspections, partnership with the business community, affordable housing assistance and monitoring, as well as long-range land use plans, development review and environmental analysis.
Library and Community Services is responsible for providing recreational, educational and cultural programs for children, adults and seniors.
The Police Department strives to provide the best possible police services. For more than 80 years, the department has worked hard every day to protect those who live, work and visit Menlo Park.
Public Works is responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of city streets, sidewalks, storm drains, curbs, trees, buildings and related facilities.
