Next date: Saturday, September 17, 2022 | 08:30 AM
to 12:30 PM
The Middle School bike skills class will help your child gain valuable skills and confidence to safely bicycle to school, the park, the mall and beyond. Classes are open to children entering 6–8 grades in the fall. The course begins with an in-person interactive review of cycling basics, then moves to smaller groups for on-bike training and practice, then a bike ride around the neighborhood to put those newly learned skills to practice. You must register in advance.
Learn:
- Basic traffic laws
- How to navigate intersections
- How to position yourself on the road
- How to avoid the most common bike crashes
- Bike hand signals
Please bring your own bike and helmet. If you need to borrow one, email the Safe Routes to School Coordinator. For more information, visit the bike skills class webpage.
This event is brought to you by Wheel Kids Bicycle Club and the City of Menlo Park. Classes are taught by League of American Bicyclists League Cycling Instructors through Wheel Kids Bicycle Club, Inc.
